A Great Idea - Zumba Slides!
I love this new idea! A co-worker of mine came to me with this great idea to create slides that fit over her shoes so she could gracefully slide across the hard wood floor during her Zumba class at the gym. Some of her classmates were buying expensive Zumba shoes with smooth soles to make pivoting and smooth movements easier but the shoes would be ruined if they wore them outside of class.
Solution?
Zumba slides! These slides fit over the ball of your foot with a 3 inch elastic strap to use for sliding and a fashion forward fabric piece to coordinate with your normal running sneakers. Easy to slide on and off, tight enough not to come off while your moving around on the floor. These would also be great for a jazz, dance or any aerobic workout class requiring smooth fluid movements. Thanks Andrea! :)

Our Visit to a Karakul Sheep Farm, Let's Get Felting!
We had a special opportunity to visit a local farm in that is home to an endangered species of sheep called Karakul. There are only 2,000 remaining Karakul sheep in the United States and their blood line dates back to biblical times. These hearty animals give amazing variations of wool textures and colors – excellent for felting and using in outerwear garments. As soon as we got home I began designing some new pin cushions. I am not sure why but breakfast seemed to be my inspiration for these projects!

A Handmade Birthday Party!
I had a great time getting ready for my son’s first birthday party. I choose a dinosaur theme because for some reason it seems my son is always growling at me (like a dinosaur) so it seemed appropriate. I found this great open source software program online called InkScape which I hear is a lot like Adobe Illustrator but its FREE! I used it to create all the paper designs as well as the iron on transfer onesie he wore for the cake photo. Turns out my son doesn’t have a sweet tooth
You can download the program at www.inkscape.org. I was worried about viruses but so far so good. It’s been on my computer now for about 5 months and still running strong. I created cupcake toppers, 2 banners, Frisbee and water bottle and bubble bottle labels. I highly recommend this program if you are looking to DIY your kids next party. It’s a great way to save some $$ and it was fun to manipulate shapes into cute prehistoric animals! Have Fun!
